May 5 - Joseph Joiner's Night Ends Early at
Southern Raceway MSCCS Event

Milton, Fla. (May 5, 2010) – The Joiner Racing/Kingdom Power Sports team and driver Joseph Joiner made their third appearance of the season at their home track of Southern Raceway this past weekend, competing in a 2,500-to-win Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series sanctioned event.

The event marked the first outing Joiner made with an open competition engine rather than the GM 604 crate engine he has ran his entire Late Model career. While the Nine Mile Machine Shop prepared powerplant ran to perfection, the car’s power steering pump did not fare so well.

The pump broke during practice and with his crew unable to repair it, Joiner was forced to compete the remainder of the night without power steering.

The 16-year-old driver was able to overcome the setback during preliminary action, turning the fifth-fastest lap in time trials and finishing fifth in the dash. However, he retired from the feature race near the midway point after running in the top five early. Joiner was credited with a 20th-place finish.

April 21 - Joseph Joiner Shakes off Bad Luck and Scores a Solid
Top-Ten Finish at East Alabama Motor Speedway

Milton, Fla. (April 21, 2010) – Joseph Joiner and the Joiner Racing/Kingdom Power Sports team traveled to Phenix City, Ala., this past weekend to compete in Saturday night’s United Dirt Late Model Challenge Series sanctioned Alabama Clash at East Alabama Motor Speedway. Mechanical issues hampered Joiner’s qualifying efforts, but the 16-year-old driver recovered nicely in the feature race. Joiner advanced from his 24th-place starting position to a seventh-place finish in the 50-lap feature, earning the race's Hard Charger Award.

The top-ten finish is the first with a regional touring series this season for Joiner, who after winning the Northwest Florida Speedway Late Model Championship in 2009 has expanded his 2010 schedule to include more regional events.

Joiner and crew have competed in two Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series events this season and traveled to Batesville, Ark., to compete with the Isle of Capri Casino Late Model Series in two events. Joiner’s efforts in both of the Mississippi State Series events were plagued by mechanical issues, and the Isle of Capri Casino race was cancelled due to rain. After the rainout at Batesville the team traveled to Tri-State Speedway in Pokola, Okla., for a Show Me Series race, where Joiner’s night again ended early due to mechanical issues.

Hoping that all the mechanical issues have been resolved, the team will likely travel to Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, Miss., Friday night to compete in a NeSmith Weekly Racing Series event. The 3/8-mile oval has both a Mississippi State Series event and a NeSmith National Touring Series event scheduled for the coming months, and Joiner will use this weekend’s trip as a tune-up for those races.
